Stade Charléty (Stade Sébastien Charléty), located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, is a multi-purpose stadium used for both football and rugby matches. It is the home ground of both Paris FC and rugby team Paris Université Club.
Paris FC presently plays in Ligue 2 and is third in the standings at time of writing.
Founded in 1969, Paris FC ('Les Bleus') was initially part of an effort to establish a strong football presence in the French capital but the club split from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 1972. While PSG rose to prominence backed by foreign money from Qatar, Paris FC has spent much of its history in the lower divisions. Indeed, the club last played in Ligue 1 in the 1978-79 season. In recent years, the club has made steady progress, aiming for promotion to Ligue 1.
