Celtic v Aberdeen
Celtic beat Aberdeen 3-1 at Celtic Park but it was a nervy finish at the end to give coach Wilfried Nancy his first win in the Scottish Premiership.
The Bhoys were dominant in the first period and looked to be moving towards a comfortable win at the break after a goal from Benjamin Nygren and a moment of madness by Dons' Bulgarian keeper Dimitar Mitov led to a red card for young defender Dylan Lobban.
A late equalizer by Swedish sub Kenan Bilalovic looked to have rescued an unlikely point for the visitors before late goals from Kieran Tierney and one club man James Forrest sealed a welcome win for the home side in front of an increasingly restless Celtic crowd.
Despite the welcome winter solstice win, Celtic still trail Hearts by six points at the top of the SPL, though they do have a game in hand. The result marked Wilfried Nancy’s first win as Celtic manager, easing some pressure after a challenging start to his tenure, and keeps Celtic competitive in the title race for the time being.
