Urawa Reds lost for the first time in two months on Saturday - 3-2 away to Jubilo Iwate, a result which breathed new life into the J-League title race.

Nearest challengers Gamba Osaka recorded a 3-0 home win, against fourth place Shimizu S-Pulse, in front of the Bampaku Stadium faithful, to close the gap at the top of the J-League to just three points.

Third place Kawasaki Frontale kept up the pressure at the top with a 2-0 home win over Kyoto Purple Sanga - a result that sent Kyoto to the bottom of the standings, as fellow cellar-dwellers Avispa and Cerezo, both managed 1-0 wins away against Albirex Niigata and Kofu Ventforet respectively.
