The first day of autumn yielded impressive away day derby wins for both Shimizu S-Pulse and Omiya Ardija.

33,678 fans turned out for the Shizuoka derby at Ecopa Stadium in Fukuroi, but it was the Shimizu fans who were rewarded for making the seventy kilometre journey south, as Cho Jae-Jin's last minute goal handed S-Pulse a dramatic 1-0 win.

A crowd of 49,810 turned out at Saitama Stadium and the majority went home stunned as second-from-bottom Omiya Ardija recorded a 1-0 win over city rivals Urawa Reds.

Hiroshi Morita scored a priceless winner for Omiya on the hour mark, to haul the club to within one point of fifteenth placed Oita Trinita on the J-League standings.
