Fifa's World Rankings for August 2022 were published on August 25, 2022 at FIFA HQ in Zurich, Switzerland.

There is no change in the top 20 positions from June 2022. Brazil remain in first place ahead of Belgium and Copa America winners Argentina.

France are fourth, followed by England, Spain, Euro 2020 winners Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, and Denmark.

Senegal the winners of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations are the top African team in 18th place. Wales are 19th with the USA in 14th place.

Australia are still in 39th with no change from June; Japan are in 24th position. Near neighbors, South Korea are 28th on the list. Scotland remain in 45th down again unchanged from June.

The Republic of Ireland are in 47th place, Northern Ireland are 58th. The lowest-ranked team is San Marino in 211th place.
