Switzerland beat Algeria 2-0 in their Round of 32 game at Vancouver Stadium in Canada. The Swiss scored in each half to record their first knockout win since 1938. Despite Algeria controlling the majority of possession (55%), Murat Yakin's side remained more efficient with their possession.
Switzerland will now face Colombia in Kansas City, Missouri in the Round of 16.
