Fifa's World Rankings for June 2026 were released in real time from FIFA HQ in Zurich in Switzerland on the eve of the 2026 World Cup.
2022 World Cup winners Argentina are top after overtaking France and Euro 2024 winners Spain. England are unchanged in fourth.
Next comes Portugal, Brazil, Morocco, The Netherlands, Belgium, then Germany in 10th. Croatia are 11th with Euro 2020 winners Italy 12th, despite failing to make the finals in the USA, Mexico are 13th, Colombia are 14th, then Senegal in 15th.
Wales are 37th. The USA are in 17th place.
Australia are in 27th place unchanged; Japan, who have good form coming into World Cup 2026, are in 18th position. South Korea are 25th again unchanged.
Scotland who have qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1998 are in the 42nd spot. The Republic of Ireland are in 58th place up one, while Northern Ireland are in 70th. The lowest-ranked team is San Marino in 211th place.
